Role Overview: As an Autism Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students with autism throughout their school day. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will help to implement personalized learning plans, facilitate engaging activities, and create a safe, supportive environment for our students to flourish. Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm Term time only Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one support to students with autism, assisting with learning activities and daily routines. Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement educational health care plans (EHCPs) and adapt classroom resources to meet diverse needs. Support students in developing social skills and emotional regulation. Foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and engagement. Work closely with parents, caregivers, and external professionals to monitor progress and share feedback. Participate in training and continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in autism support. Requirements: Experience working with children with autism or additional needs in an educational setting is highly desirable. A compassionate and patient approach, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with autism. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, families, and colleagues. A proactive and adaptable mindset, able to respond to the dynamic needs of our students. Relevant qualifications in special education or a related field are advantageous but not essential.
