Job Description:
About the role:
Working within Construction Services, you will be involved in delivering multiple projects throughout the year, including drainage renewals, refurbishments, and various off-track civil works such as constructing access steps, level crossings, and road-rail access points. You will work with various plant and machinery to support safe and efficient construction across our network.
About the role (External):
This role focuses on Off track maintenance: maintaining, inspecting, and repairing land alongside the track to ensure safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include vegetation management, drainage, and ancillary structures.
Operatives work outdoors in all weather conditions, often performing manual tasks in challenging terrains. Safety, adherence to rules, and teamwork are essential, especially when working near moving trains at high speeds.
You matter to your team:

Transferable skills like teamwork, communication, proactive planning, working under pressure, rule-following, and a willingness to learn are crucial. Experience as an arborist is preferred.
Additional information:
* Shifts include days, nights, and weekends.
* Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
* Employment is subject to drug, alcohol, medical, and BPSS checks.
* A valid driving license (category B) is required.
* Applicants should live within a 60-minute commute of the location.
