Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged by a highly acquisitive, private equity backed global oil services company to hire a Management Accountant on a full time, staff basis. This role is responsible for the Americas region and involves working as a business partner to the Regional Manager, supporting the regional business through a hands on and pro-active approach to financial and commercial management and delivery of robust performance analysis. To be considered, you will be an experienced Accountant, either qualified or qualified by experience. This is an excellent role to develop your skills and progress in a leading international business.
The Opportunity
* Work closely with regional management and project teams to identify and deliver solutions to improve regional financial performance and client service delivery
* Providing financial data and analysis to allow critical decision making both at regional and group level
* Identify any problem areas and present recommendations to both regional and group management
* Assist with the preparation of commercial bids and tenders as required
* Regional cash management including managing the debt collection process and reporting in conjunction with the regional sales teams and group credit controller to proactively minimise debtor days
* Assist in the preparation of and critically assessing the weekly revenue flash forecast in conjunction with regional management
* Manage capex spend and reporting, including monitoring and managing tool-build cost
* Prepare reports and analysis as requirement by regional and group management to assist in overall group financial performance management
* Preparation, reporting and monitoring of actual financial performance through the preparation of monthly management accounts including balance sheet reconciliations providing narrative and financial explanation
* Leading the monthly financial performance views with regional management and group finance teams
* Preparation of annual financial budgets and quarterly forecasts in conjunction with regional management
* Review of payroll reports (currently bi-weekly for Americas region)
* Preparation of annual statutory accounts as appropriate for the region and/or supporting group finance function on providing supporting information for group reporting
* Preparation of sales tax returns and other ad-hoc taxation compliance reporting as required
* Assist the Group's tax advisors in the preparation and submission of annual tax returns
Background and Experience
* Qualified accountant or qualified by experience with relevant experience
* Excellent communication skills, detail oriented, and have a positive and professional approach to business
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines
* A self-starter with the ability to operate on own initiative as well as part of a team and engage at all levels within the Group
* Knowledge of Oracle Netsuite would be advantageous but not essential
* Excellent IT skills including Excel and PowerPoint
