The Lead Android Engineer serves as a central point of contact between various teams and are responsible for defining the technical roadmap. They work closely with Product Managers, IT technical leadership, developers on the Mobile Team, and developers on other domains within New Look, as well as third-party suppliers, on-site or offshore. With guidance from the Mobile Engineering Lead, they coordinate efforts across teams, drive technical direction, and ensure the delivery of the best and most cost-effective solutions for our customers on the Android App. The Lead Anroid Engineer is accountable for the overall quality of the application and its releases, ensuring continuous quality improvement and robust code delivery – alongside the Engineering Lead, Test & Automation Lead, and DevOps – for identifying opportunities for automation to accelerate the development, testing, and release cycle of the Android App within a CI/CD pipeline. The Lead Android Engineer is accountable for the quality of the application, and features released, ensuring that the quality is maintained or improved with each release by avoiding the introduction of regression bugs and peer-reviewing the code to be delivered. The Lead Android Engineer in collaboration with the Engineering, Test and Product leads, is responsible for ensuring that the features being developed are well architected, maintainable and fit for release to the live environment and to our customers. The Lead Android Engineer impacts the work within the development team, helps with the estimation of the efforts required to bring a feature to our customers and informs the engineering & product teams, on the dependencies for the features being developed.
