Job Description Classroom Support is excited to be working with a wonderful school in South Ockendon. We are currently assisting them in their search for a highly experienced Learning Mentor, specifically skilled in supporting students with various Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or those with challenging behavior or Social, Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This lovely Primary School in South Ockendon has a dedicated provision for students with SEN & SEMH. The students in this provision range from Reception to Year 6 and have a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and conditions like Sensory Modulation Disorder. The provision also caters to students with significant learning and behavioural challenges, providing Learning Mentors to support them on a 1:2:1 basis. The ideal Learning Mentor will have extensive experience working with students with SEN such as ASC and ADHD, as well as experience with managing challenging behaviours. The details of the role are as follows: - Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 4pm (term-time only). - Pay: £85-95 per day. - Payment: Weekly. - Contract: Temporary to Permanent (Temp period 12-14 academic weeks). - Responsibilities: Provide 1:2:1 educational support for a student with SEN or challenging behaviour, support individual students inside and outside the classroom, use effective behaviour management techniques, provide regular feedback to the teacher, demonstrate patience and resilience when working with challenging students. - Start Date: September 2024 The requirements for the role include: - Valid enhanced DBS certificate (registered on the update service) or willingness to obtain a new one (£52.20). - Previous experience supporting students with SEN. - Confidence in working with challenging students.
