An Exciting role with the Community Services as a B3 Therapy assistant to provide Therapy, rehab and care to patients in the Community in their own homes
Main duties of the job
The Community Therapy team are looking to recruit highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 3 Therapy Assistants to join our friendly, dedicated and dynamic team working in rehabilitation. We treat people with a wide range of conditions, working with patients in their own homes.
The service covers the west area of West Sussex, including Midhurst, Chichester, Witterings, Selsey, Arundel and Pulborough.
The posts can be full time or part time and the service covers 8am-8pm, seven days a week.
We are looking for candidates who like working with people and are reliable, flexible and adaptable in their work. Previous experience as a Therapy Technician, Assistant or similar is desirable. Our ideal candidates will enjoy problem solving, have excellent communication skills, and want to work in the community within a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping to implement timely and person-centred assessments and rehabilitation.
Full driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Job responsibilities

13. Receive clinical supervision from registered therapists
14. Participate in the in-service learning programme

17. Support development of other staff outside of your professional group
18. Assist in shaping the future clinical practice of the Community Therapy team
The service is continually developing and improving to meet the needs of our patients and commissioners.
Applicants should have experience of delivering care and/or rehabilitation to adults and older people with various needs.
The post holders will be required to support service developments and show flexibility when adapting to change.
The successful candidates will:
19. Assist the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy staff in the treatment of specific patients
20. Take patients' observations
21. Have their own delegated patient caseload and clinical duties
22. Supervise exercise programmes and practise activities of daily living under the guidance of a therapist
23. Assess and treat patients according to protocols, monitoringtheir progression and making minor alterations totheir treatment programmes as required
24. Work without direct supervision, reporting back patient progress and informing the therapist of any problems

25. GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
26. NVQ3 or equivalent level of knowledge
Skill

27. Excellent verbal communication and ability to build rapport
28. Able to give instructions to people that can be followed and easily interpreted
29. Ability to prioritise and plan delegated work from a variety of sources, meet deadlines and
30. Ability to work with others and independently

31. Knowledge of a range of work procedures and practices gained through experience
32. Basic level of theoretical knowledge relevant to clinical setting

33. At least 12 months experience of working in a caring environment, either in health, social or voluntary services
