Purpose
The role is hybrid with a need to be 3 days a week in the office in Winnersh, UK .
There will be occasional need to attend customer sites.
Working pattern is 9-5 Monday to Friday.
This Linux system engineer role is internally called Systems Integrator position. It is a versatile role that requires the use of multiple technical skills. System engineer, DevOps, QA, and Developer profiles can easily adapt and expand their tech stack.
Within IDEMIA, the Public Security Business Unit operates mainly in government markets by providing physical and digital identity management solutions, identification systems for police forces, border control solutions and equipment for road safety and access control.
We are currently looking for a Systems Integrator to strengthen our team responsible for our government projects.
As a system integrator within your project, you will be responsible for integrating various software subsystems into a complex global system. From the overall project integration strategy to effective integration, qualification, and deployment, your role is essential to ensure the proper functioning and optimal performance of the entire system.
Key Missions
As part of our team, you will have these responsibilities:
1. Understanding and Documentation:
• Develop an understanding of IDEMIA's biometric solutions.
• Demonstrate an understanding of existing customer systems.
• Document IDEMIA's solutions.
• Capture functional and non-functional requirements within internal tools.
• Review customer engineering documents.
2. System Integration Strategy:
• Define the system integration strategies.
• Work with stakeholders, internal SMEs, and Solution Architects to define system-level requirements.
• Work with team members to develop solutions for stakeholders.
3. Configuration and Installation:
• Configure, install, and validate IDEMIA's solutions.
• Build and maintain the integration environment and install the solution for validation.
• Support pre-sales teams on specific technical requests on integration activities.
4. Testing and Validation:
• Perform system integration and validation tests, including load, performance, high availability, accuracy, and security tests.
• Investigate issues by analyzing logs during internal and customer-led test execution.
• Report incidents through the configuration management tool and monitor them until closure.
5. Training and Support:
• Prepare and deliver training for customers, support, and maintenance teams.
To succeed in this position, you will need the following skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in integrating complex systems or support systems engineering
- Red Hat Linux Administration
- Windows Administration
- Scripting knowledge (Bash, Python)
- Understanding of deployment technologies such as Ansible
- Containerization: Kubernetes, Docker, Docker-Compose.
- System & IT Infrastructure concepts
- Methodical troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data.
- Technical writing for the documentation
