An Edinburgh-based Tech-for-good start up is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, with good experience using ReactJS and TypeScript, to join their hybrid team. Opportunity to work for an organisation that will genuinely improve the quality of life for many people.
They've been operating for a few years now and have developed a revolutionary device for the healthcare industry aimed at improving mobility. You'll be joining the software side of the business and will be responsible for one of their main web applications, which is a business-critical function for their device.
You'll be working alongside two other techies within this side of the business, providing support and collaboration. However, they will be focused on other products/services, and you'll be given full ownership of this application - so they're really looking for a confident Software Engineer seeking a challenging role.
The application is currently in a functional state but is in its infancy, and they're looking for someone to come in and expand this product and, over time, help to scale. It's written in ReactJS on the Front End with NodeJS and TypeScript on the Back End. They use a SQL database, and it's hosted on AWS. You should ideally feel comfortable with most of this tech stack; however, they can be flexible on certain technologies, especially regarding the Back End, provided you're willing and able to upskill.
What would really make a candidate stand out for this role is prior experience working on an early SaaS product for a tech start-up, with bonus points if that's also within the Healthcare/Medical sector - however, this is not a requirement.
Their offices are based on the West side of Edinburgh, with parking available onsite and good public transport links. They support hybrid working and expect you onsite about once a week to meet with your colleagues. They are genuinely a friendly and social bunch; many are into outdoor activities, so meeting your colleagues for a Munro Walk at the weekend isn't out of the norm (also definitely not a requirement for the role!).
In return, they offer a salary of £50k - £65k + benefits. There are also many opportunities for career progression as the company has ambitious growth plans and aims to grow headcount later this year. They've suggested this hire would be in an ideal position for technical leadership responsibilities down the line, should they want this.
