This role is responsible for building management information (MI) reports and dashboards alongside analysis of data from DVSA’s MI databases using Power BI. The post holder delivers information with insight that supports the planning and decision-making process and provides of data guidance to the business.
The post holder collaborates with others to develop new regular reporting, run ad-hoc and existing reports, extracts information in accordance with user specifications and provides statistical information for publication or in response to freedom of information or subject access requests.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Ensures reports are accurate, run to relevant time scale, and made available electronically for use by interested parties within the business.
* Investigates anomalies thoroughly and timely and makes any necessary corrections.
* Produces new, regular and ad-hoc MI reports and dashboards, liaising with customers to establish report content, format and timescale where required.
* Maintains a data knowledge base detailing the main data tables and elements, business rules associated with the data and any known data quality issues.
* The post holder has contact with other stakeholders including operational managers for and delivery of analytical products to all areas of the business.
