About the Roles As a Data Science Intern, you will support the wider Data Science team to research new methods and algorithms for both internal and external research projects. You will assist the team in designing, developing and validating prototypes and support their translation into products by collaborating with various internal teams. There is a particular focus on the implementation and deployment of cutting-edge Deep Learning models and bespoke algorithms for large scale Medical Image Analysis in the cloud. You will also assist in running in-depth data analyses to answer scientific questions, with the potential creation of scientific publications. Overall, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our initiatives at the intersection of technology and healthcare. From developing cutting-edge algorithms to analysing medical images, your work will directly impact the future of Perspectum’s healthcare delivery. About You You will be looking for a year in industry placement as part of your studies, be that part of a 4 year or 5 year programme (“sandwich degree”) undergrad or 5 year Masters programme (or similar) within a STEM subject. Your skills, knowledge and experience will include: A keen interest in and willingness to learn about Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Medical Image Analysis, and Medical Physics. A solid foundation in mathematics, with the ability to apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems. Demonstrable experience coding, particularly in languages such as Python, Java, MATLAB or similar. Proactive and self-motivated attitude, with a strong desire to take initiative and drive projects forward. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks undertaken. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels. An interest in contributing to scientific research and the creation of peer-reviewed publications Well-organised with excellent prioritisation skills, able to independently manage multiple tasks effectively. Proactive self-starter. We see our internships as a two-way street.
