Tasks and responsibilities:
Main Purpose of the Role
As a Site Director, you will oversee the operations of a large and complex distribution centre, ensuring exceptional client service while optimising efficiency and aligning with the Bleckmann Promise, Company Culture, Values, and Strategic Objectives. Key areas of focus include:
* Driving operational excellence to meet and exceed client expectations.
* Leading a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, and building capabilities to support business growth.
* Introducing automation and championing continuous improvement across the site.
* Maintaining a strong emphasis on health, safety, and compliance.
Responsible for
Client-Centric Leadership
* Act as the primary contact for senior client stakeholders, ensuring their needs are understood and consistently met.
* Address client concerns promptly, transparently, and effectively, delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
* Identify opportunities to strengthen and grow client relationships by offering innovative solutions and services.
* Foster a client-focused culture throughout the site, ensuring operational alignment with client goals.
Operational Excellence
* Develop and implement strategies to ensure the site operates efficiently and achieves key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Monitor operational performance, addressing challenges strategically and driving process improvements.
* Oversee the introduction of automation and advanced technologies to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
* Ensure the infrastructure, resources, and systems are optimized to meet both current and future demands.
Leadership and Team Development
* Inspire and empower Operational Managers and their teams, providing regular coaching and feedback.
* Build a collaborative culture where best practices are shared, and teams work together to achieve objectives.
* Invest in professional development to build leadership succession and enhance team capabilities.
* Recognise and celebrate individual and team achievements, fostering engagement and motivation.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
* Champion the health and safety agenda across the site, ensuring a proactive and initiative-taking approach to safe working practices.
* Monitor and ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and company standards.
* Lead safety audits and reviews, maintaining the highest safety standards throughout the site.
* Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in health, safety, and compliance.
Strategic Growth and Innovation
* Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the operation, presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
* Drive innovation in processes, automation, and service offerings to position the site as a leader in operational excellence.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement initiatives that enhance efficiency, profitability, and client satisfaction.
Profile:
* Proven leadership experience in managing complex distribution or logistics operations.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service.
* Expertise in implementing automation and leveraging technology to drive operational improvements.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic perspective.
* Commitment to fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and lead teams effectively.
