Trinity are hiring a Multi-Skilled Service Engineer to maintain fire and security systems.
You will liaise with our Service and wider support departments to provide first-rate servicing to the systems used by our clients. You'll be working as part of a skilled team of Engineers and Senior Engineers to build on the company’s reputation in quality and customer service.
Trinity works with industry-leading systems including Honeywell Gent, Notifier, and Morley.
Principal Responsibilities
Carry out scheduled routine servicing in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner in line with the Company’s quality standards.
* Carry out all other necessary works required at customer premises in accordance with the Company’s quality standards.
* Effectively communicate with customers to ensure a good understanding of system and site status, particularly system defects that affect its correct function.
* Liaise with service administrators to ensure service commitments are met.
* Work to a planned service & maintenance schedule, emergency call-out requirements, and remedial repairs and minor additions to existing installations in line with service administration guidance.
* Ensure legible and timely completion of all company paperwork in line with Company requirements.
* Operate in accordance with the Company Handbook and all Company and customer’s quality standards and health and safety requirements.
Accountable for
* Leaving customers with a fully functioning fire & security system unless the Engineering Manager/Customer has been informed of the reasons that completion is not possible, before leaving the premises.
* All own documentation being completed and reaching the required destinations within agreed time limits.
* Ensuring that customers are always satisfied with the service they receive.
Key Competencies of Jobholder
Skills
* Experience in servicing and maintaining fire, security, CCTV, and access control systems to relevant British Standards.
* Able to identify all types of cable associated with fire detection and security systems and to correctly test and terminate the cable ends in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
* Demonstrates a logical approach to system fault diagnosis and rectification.
* Understands different types of cable containment systems.
* Deal with customers, end-users, construction personnel, and in-house staff in a professional manner.
* Verbal and written communication.
Technical Knowledge
* Understands the basic building services to test cause and effect of fire alarm interfaces.
* Has a comprehensive understanding of the causes and cures of fire, intruder, CCTV, and access control problems, including an ability to recommend changes to practices and processes that may cause false alarms as well as recommending changes to the systems.
* Basic Electrical Safety training (ECA).
* Manufacturers training with a minimum requirement of Notifier and Gent equipment in respect of servicing.
