As a result, alongside several consortium partners, Balfour Beatty has been selected by BP (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage, which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.
Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project based at our new site in Redcar-in-Cleveland on Teesside.
What you’ll be doing
Commercial Management & Administration
* Review and manage data for cost and financial management.
* Review complex contract programmes.
* Monitor subcontract activities, measure performance, prepare interim monthly payments, and prepare monthly reports.
* Provide commercial progress updates and financial reconciliations.
Customer & Change Management
* Analyse rates and prices, agree on variations and compensation events.
* Manage the commercial aspects with customers and stakeholders within your area of responsibility.
Procurement
* Prepare procurement programmes and assist in developing procurement strategies.
* Analyse tender documents, critically appraise, estimate, and negotiate with third parties.
Who we’re looking for
* Experience in leading and mentoring a team of commercial staff.
* In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and cost control in the construction industry.
* Must live within a 50 miles radius of the NZT site.
* Chartered status (MRICS or similar) or actively working towards.
* Previous involvement in a high-profile project.
