Position: SEND Support Coordinator Contract: Temporary, 30 hours per week until 23rd May Salary: £25,498 – £27,863 per annum - as this is a temp role - it will be based on an hourly rate to this salary Location - Halifax Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced SEND professional to lead the placement and support of students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Additional Learning Support (ALS) needs. This role involves liaising with parents, curriculum staff, and external agencies to ensure positive outcomes for students, including monitoring engagement and addressing barriers to learning. Key Responsibilities: EHCP Management: Chair annual reviews, complete necessary paperwork, and ensure compliance with Local Authority standards and statutory timelines. Policy and Procedure Oversight: Review and implement SEND policies, keeping the local offer up to date and ensuring adherence across the institution. Data Analysis: Monitor SEND student outcomes by primary difficulty/disability to inform continuous improvement efforts. Transition Support: Lead effective transition planning for students entering and exiting the institution, collaborating with relevant teams. Staff Supervision: Provide support and supervision to specialist external staff, such as Visual Impairment (VI), Hearing Impairment (HI), Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT), and Occupational Health (OH) professionals. Training and Development: Deliver training sessions as required and ensure continued professional development through attendance at necessary training. Safeguarding: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding procedures and ensure compliance with institutional policies.Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Proven experience in supporting students with SEND, particularly those with EHCPs. Knowledge of FE, SEND, and JCQ legislation and their impact on educational settings. Experience in chairing EHCP annual reviews and completing related documentation. Strong communication skills for liaising with parents, staff, and external agencies. Ability to lead and manage a team effectively. Desirable: Experience in preparing for adulthood initiatives and supported internships. Familiarity with funding streams such as Adult Education Budget (AEB), ALS, and Flexible Funding Initiative (FFI).
