JOB VACANCY: PIPE FITTER (PLASTICS)

Working pattern: Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 16:45pm, Fridays 08:00am to 15:00pm

SUMMARY OF ROLE
The main aim of this role is to fabricate and maintain pipework and manifolds onsite (predominantly plastics), through the safe use of hand tools, machinery and other equipment. Supporting other engineering disciplines as and when required.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
Responsibilities:
* Fabricate pipework from engineering drawings to industry specification.
* Planned preventative maintenance of existing pipework systems.
* Lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair piping systems carrying water, chemicals and other process piping systems.
* Safely use hand tools, machinery and other equipment.
* Assist other engineering disciplines as and when required.
* Carry out other tasks as requested.
General:
* Attend any upskilling training required or recommended.
* Strictly adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, including the use of the appropriate protective clothing.
Office Support:
* Working on Maintain x Software.

SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES
* Professional experience:
* Time served and fully qualified CSWIP or equivalent, with experience working with multiple plastics including Polypropylene, Polyethylene, PVCU and PVDF. (Mandatory)
* A minimum of 2 years experience working with plastics (Mandatory)
* Experience in plastic fusion methods such as IR fusion. (Mandatory)
* Experience working with chemicals (Desirable)
* Possession of IPAF, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Legionella and Asbestos awareness certificates. (Desirable)
* Confident working alone and as part of a team (Mandatory)
* Problem solving skills (Mandatory)
* Experience of Maintain x Software (Desirable)
