Design and Pre Construction Manager
Role Summary:
We are a professional project management company that designs and builds the most inspirational practices in the UK, with projects ranging in size from £10,000 to £350,000, all requiring immaculate detail.
The Design Manager has overall responsibility to oversee the design elements of projects on time, within budget, and to client expectations.
Role Narrative:
As a Design and Pre Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our projects from concept to completion. You’ll collaborate and manage cross-functional teams, including architects, interior designers, consultant engineers, and stakeholders, to ensure all designs align with project briefs, client scope & specifications, technical requirements, building compliance, costed budget, and industry standards. You will also ensure that the work complies with building regulations and BSA requirements from design through to delivery.
You must have excellent attention to detail, be capable of multitasking, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Leadership:
* Lead and oversee the entire design process for medical fitout projects, from initial concept through to completion.
* Ensure that all designs are compliant with healthcare regulations and standards, including infection control, patient safety, and accessibility.
* Manage the design team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
* Coordinate design reviews and ensure alignment with client vision and project objectives.
* Ensure design production is coordinated.
Pre Construction Project Management:
* Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company objectives.
* Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates and financial reports, analyzing data to support informed decision-making.
* Contract Management: Assist in drafting and managing contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Design Collaboration: Work closely with architects and engineers to review and refine designs, ensuring feasibility within budget and timeline constraints.
* Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges early in the planning phase and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
* Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and ensuring project alignment.
* Permitting and Compliance: Oversee the acquisition of necessary permits and ensure compliance with local regulations and codes.
* Team Leadership: Coordinate efforts among project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure project goals are met.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
* 2 years of experience in pre-construction or project management within the construction industry.
* Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and cost estimation tools.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of construction processes, regulations, and best practices.

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
