Description
A bit about Field
Field is an international developer, owner, operator, of renewable infrastructure. Our Founder and CEO is a successful entrepreneur who previously co-founded a green energy supplier. We have robust pipelines of BESS projects across the UK, Italy, Spain, and Germany - and strong financial backing. Our most recent fundraise was a £200 million investment from DIF Capital Partners (now CVC DIF). This will support our mission to grow internationally, and ultimately to build and develop a robust global BESS portfolio.
We are an eclectic team with varied backgrounds. Our team has experience scaling billion dollar tech start-ups and building energy companies, as well as deep specialisms in energy markets. You will learn from and work with a bunch of fun, curious, and entrepreneurial people who really want to make an impact. Together, we will show that batteries are a totally viable part of our energy infrastructure - now, not in some distant future. We have ambitious plans to become the defining new clean energy player in Europe over the next few years, gradually expanding beyond batteries into new asset types.
The role
This is a broad and varied role which will be instrumental in supporting our continued business growth across Europe. The role includes project change management, development of our accounting system, and detailed data analytics for internal management and lenders.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the accounting team with the month-end close process in accordance with the group timetable and ensure all deadlines are consistently met
* Preparation of the group monthly management accounts (including P&L balance sheet and cash flow) and board pack financials
* Drive process improvement across the team, including the development and optimisation of our accounting system, NetSuite
* Assist with financial analysis of specific projects / assets
* Work closely with other teams (treasury, FP&A, procurement) and team mates within Finance to coordinate activities and resolve issues
* Business partnering and budget monitoring for central service departments
* Prepare ad hoc and scheduled reports for external auditors and investment partners
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* You’re very organised - you’ll be spinning a few plates at once, so you’ll need to have tried and tested methods for keeping on top of a varied workload and making sure you always adhere to strict internal deadlines
* You’re technically astute with strong analytical skills, leveraging this to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvements
* You’re a candid and effective communicator who builds professional relationships based on trust and transparency
* You’re collaborative and flexible, well used to coordinating activities across multiple teams to make sure work is delivered in full, on time
* You’re enthusiastic, curious and (ideally) knowledgeable about the energy storage industry (but don’t worry, we’re a team of experts here so you’ll have plenty of people to learn from if this is a new area for you)
Additional Skills
* Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, or equivalent) with an excellent academic record and relevant PQE
* Experience in complex, multi-entity group consolidation, with a good understanding of foreign currency translation and intercompany transactions
* Previous experience in the production of management reporting, along with strong Excel skills
* Previous experience and understanding of NetSuite is preferable
Job Benefits
We’re offering a 12-15 month fixed term contract, competitive compensation package.
Why join us?
* Genuine impact: You will actually be building and operating the renewable infrastructure we need to reach net zero. This is not a green CSR initiative, but a company that is taking a leading role in building one of the critical solutions to a generational problem.
* Make things happen: We are still a relatively early stage company, and you will have significant accountability to make things happen from day one. You will have a lot of autonomy, will learn quickly, and be given a LOT of room to grow.
* Define a new industry: The energy market is in a paradigm shift right now, evolving at a breathtaking pace, and you will play a leading role in defining how that market evolves and innovates over the next few years.
* Exceptional team: We are an eclectic team with varied backgrounds. We have experience scaling billion dollar tech start-ups and building energy companies, as well as deep specialisms in the energy markets. You will learn from and work with a bunch of fun, curious, and entrepreneurial people who really want to make an impact.
Our Values
* Work for the team - We are friendly and approachable. We make time for each other, value diverse perspectives, and learn and grow together.
* Do it right - We prioritise doing things right, never cutting corners. Safety comes first, and we consider our impact on communities and the environment. We act with integrity always.
* Move fast - We’re doers. We take responsibility, deliver on promises, and get things done. FAST.
* Know your stuff - We’re curious self-starters, always learning, adapting, and improving. No question is too small. We own our growth.
