One YMCA are poised and ready to enter a period of rapid expansion and growth, with aspirations to both diversify and strengthen our housing provision. As part of these exciting plans, we have a Place & environment team who will focus on providing a full range of skilled / complex maintenance and repairs works that includes delivering our unique programme of major stock refurbishment.
As an electrician you will be responsible for the delivery and completion of electrical repairs within our estate and within empty units of accommodation (voids).
Your role:
• As the qualified electrician you will have the relevant training, experience, and trade skills to cover a wide range of electrical repairs within our hostels/accommodation and wider estate
• You will carry out electrical repair work to components, appliances, installations, systems and infrastructure, including faults caused by damage or other cause, including responsive/emergency repair or renewal work
• You will ensure that the repairs required are diagnosed correctly and works completed are to a high standard and quality.
• Maximise your first-time fix rate and daily productivity level whilst delivering a high standard of workmanship, quality, and customer experience.
• You will be responsible for the delivery and completion of electrical repairs within our estate and within empty units of accommodation (voids).
• On occasion, provide guidance, coaching, training and management of apprentices who join the P&E team, liaising with college placement tutors to ensure individuals have the exposure to the workplace experiences required.
• You may expected to bring the skills and experience to deal with more basic jobs outside of your specialism such as general maintenance requests.
Requirements:
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and AM2
• Certificate in Electrical Installation Parts 1 and 2 (or approved equivalent)
• Full UK Driving license

Hours per week: 37.5
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday 9-5 ( This role may require some weekend working)
