Job Purpose To maintain and further develop The Bridge Foundation as a centre of excellence in the field of parent, child and family mental health and wellbeing. To ensure excellent clinical services for the adults, young people, children,and families who use the services of The Bridge Foundation Operational responsibility: To provide leadership, strategic direction and management to the organisation, especially the Senior Management Team,in relation to all aspects of The Bridge Foundation activities Accountability: To act as a bridge between the Board of Trustees and all operational activities of The Bridge Foundation, and to be responsible and accountable to the Board of Trustees Authority: to operate within the boundaries of the delegated powers set by the Board of Trustees Job Summary Leadership To motivate and support all employees and volunteers To create an environment where people can flourish To demonstrate a thorough understanding of the principles of psychoanalytic therapeutic practice and ensure that this is championed and reflected across the organisation To ensure staff and volunteers are actively engaged in achieving The Bridge Foundation’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities To maintain and promote a culture and practice of collaboration with the Board of Trustees, the Senior Management Team, and the organisation To actively communicate and promote, both internally and to external stakeholders, the ethos, activities and impact of the organisation To act as a high-profile representative of The Bridge Foundation, fostering strategic partnerships and advocating for its mission at a local and national level To champion and drive The Bridge Foundation’s commitment to equity,diversity, and belonging Strategic Development To collaborate with the Board of Trustees to develop the organisation’s long-term strategy within the agreed vision, mission and values of The Bridge Foundation, and be responsible for leading its implementation To be responsible for the development and delivery of the five year business plan To turn the agreed long term strategy into operational plans and lead in their implementation and success To report to the Board on progress through agreed priorities and key performance indicators, and collaborate with the Board on further developing the long term strategy Strategic Managing Resources and Finances To be responsible for the development and delivery of an annual operational plan and budget To ensure effective management of resources and the financial health of the organisation in line with the strategy and operational plans To collaborate with the Trustees to ensure that all legal, financial and operational requirements of The Bridge Foundation are met and comply with legal and fiscal duties as set out by funders, auditors, and The Charity Commission Management To ensure that the staff structure and accountability develops in line with the direction of the strategic plan, and are clearly communicated such that all staff understand their key roles and their accountability to the Board via line management To ensure the delivery of services of the highest quality and represent current best practice To oversee Human Resources (HR) and be responsible for ensuring excellent practice in all aspects of HR in line with The Bridge Foundation objectives To ensure compliance with employment and equality legislation and accepted good practice To establish and maintain appropriate and effective management systems and structures in The Bridge Foundation in order to achieve objectives and be adaptable as necessary To ensure that staff resources are used as effectively, efficiently, and creatively as possible Governance and Compliance, in Liaison with The Board To lead, in collaboration with the Trustees, on the preparation and submission of the annual Statutory Accounts (including the narrative trustees' annual report) and the charity's Annual Return, ensuring these documents and any other statutory returns are submitted to the Charity Commission in good time To hold operational responsibility for clinical governance, health and safety,safeguarding, risk management, and equity, diversity and belonging, within a framework that ensures safe, effective and high-quality services To develop, implement, and regularly review operational policies to ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and sector best practices To ensure that robust evaluation procedures are in place to ensure high quality, effective and sustainable service is being proved at all times To undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Trustees Other Travel is required within Bristol to meet with funders and partners and occasionally outside of Bristol to funders’ locations The role will require some out of hours working to attend meetings when required All job descriptions are subject to review to reflect changes to internal and external factors. Post holders are expected to be flexible and prepared to carry out any similar or related duties within the work outlined. The Board of Trustees, in consultation with the post holder, will undertake any future reviews of the job description
