Main duties of the job
DMRC provides medical rehabilitation for patients with complex needs who may have sustained multiple injuries; this includes neurological injury and complex trauma. In addition, the Centres of Spinal and Upper Quadrant, Lower Limb and Specialist Rehabilitation provide the consultant-led multidisciplinary management at secondary care level.
The successful postholder will be responsible for providing specialist Occupational Therapy rehabilitation to service personnel with complex clinical needs within the Psychological Wellbeing Service. You will provide full support to the Band 7 Occupational Therapists (OTs), Team Manager, and Occupational Therapy Professional Lead Advisor in the provision of a comprehensive, evidence-based and professional Occupational Therapy service within the clinical area.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* Assessing complex patients with a range of diagnoses, identifying, developing, and implementing appropriate specialist rehabilitation programmes based on clear clinical reasoning, underpinned by sound theory and evidence-based practice.
* Supporting the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in the interpretation of assessment results and recommendations based on clinical need as part of the larger rehabilitation process.
* Acting as a resource to the clinical team on patient intervention and management.
* Demonstrating skill at assessing and interpreting a range of complex factors relating to the patient's condition which will impact on their ability to carry out their activities of daily living including their ability to return to work.

Qualifications
* Degree or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
Registrations and Memberships
* Registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Registration with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
* Please provide your membership registration number.
* You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.
* Your application will not progress should you fail to provide a valid membership registration number.
Experience
* Relevant experience within clinical area.
Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year, Per Annum, Pro-rata for part-time.
