We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our clients Edinburgh office on a full-time basis.
Our client, a top 10 accounts and business advisory firm, continues to see growth year on year through mergers and business wins.
We are keen to hear from candidates that may be studying towards their ACA/ACCA/CA qualification and looking for more hands-on experience. You would be working within a dynamic and rapidly evolving company while gaining exposure to a varied SME client base.

You’ll be working closely with clients across diverse industries, performing a range of compliance tasks and supporting the preparation of statutory accounts. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience while receiving study support to help you achieve your qualifications.
What You'll Do:
* Perform basic compliance tasks to a high standard
* Prepare computations for review by senior staff
* Manage your own chargeable time budget
* Produce annual statutory accounts and provide record-keeping services for clients
* Begin offering advice on best practices and make recommendations for partner review
* Communicate with HMRC and get involved in basic compliance tasks
* Take on some responsibility for a basic client portfolio, including VAT/payroll preparation
* Work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
* Assist with administrative tasks as required
What We're Looking For:
* Actively studying towards ACA/ACCA/CA (study support provided, including study leave)
* Around 2 years of practice experience preparing accounts (FRS102 1A)
* Experience with VAT returns and cloud accounting software (Xero experience is preferred but not essential)
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently within chargeable time budgets
