Job Summary:
SLB Production Chemistry provide chemical solutions to the oil and gas industry ensuring optimal production from wellhead to refinery. The SLB technical services team requires a lab engineer / chemist to perform product performance evaluations and routine analyses of field samples.
This role involves the handling and manipulation of chemicals and as such applicants must be familiar with standard wet chemistry and analytical techniques. In addition to a strong scientific background, applicants should be excellent communicators, enjoy solving problems, and work well in teams. Previous experience working with oilfield production chemicals (corrosion / scale / wax inhibitors & demulsifiers) is highly desirable.
Successful candidates will be expected to maintain high QHSE standards, keep accurate records and prepare clear and concise technical reports.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Process lab requests
Product screening / development
Technical report writing
Database management
General lab equipment maintenance
Maintaining calibration records for equipment
Maintain QHSE standards (COSHH, risk assessments)
Use COSHH and risk assessments for all chemicals and tasks performed in the lab and maintaining tests protocols.
Qualifications:
BSc. in CHEMISTRY or physical science
Minimum of 3 years chemical lab experience
Working knowledge of oilfield production chemistry
BOSIET / offshore experience desirable but not essential
