Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team (MDT) delivering primary healthcare nursing including elements of occupational health.
You will work with the Senior Practice Nurse or Senior Medical Officer within the medical facility (MF).
Depending upon qualifications and experience, you will be responsible for the delivery of appropriate assessment treatments, screening, and advice to patients within your professional competence and in accordance with Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) clinical guidelines and protocols.

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* Providing high-quality person-centred care which always considers people's safety, privacy, and dignity using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidence-based.
* Monitoring and improving standards through supervision, evidence-based practice, clinical audit, research, and education.
* Acting as a role model, delivering high-quality practice and promoting clinical effectiveness in care.
* Undertaking training and clinical supervision responsibilities for Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) and Military Medics.
* Working within the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and adhering to all NMC standards and Ministry of Defence (MOD) /DPHC policies and guidelines.

Person Specification

Qualifications
* Degree, diploma or appropriate training as recognised by a professional body such as NMC or HCPC.
* Hold Basic Life Support (BLS), Anaphylaxis, Automated External Defibrillation (AED), Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), and Safeguarding Level 3 (Children and Adult).
* Willingness to undertake specific training to fulfil competency for the role (e.g., audiometry, ear care, minor illness/injury, physical assessment and history taking, travel health) and Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) training as appropriate.
