We are looking for a confident, driven Head of English whose track record shows that they are firmly committed to the principle of high achievement for all. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience of successfully holding a responsibility within an English team, including some accountability for outcomes. The English faculty consistently achieves G.C.S.E. results that are in the top 20% of all schools nationally. Nothing lower than an ALPS score of 3 has been achieved at A level for the last 8 years. The faculty also offers film and media at both KS4 and KS5.
The successful candidate will lead a team of 10 specialists who are all based in 10 adjacent classrooms, each with a SmartScreen. There is also easy access to a bookable resource of 30 computers which are for the sole use of the English faculty. The successful candidate will be required to teach English up to and including A level.
This vacancy has arisen due to the current postholder securing a second Head of English position for September 2025 and is a fantastic platform for further promotion. The successful candidate will join a school which is determined to move 'beyond outstanding' and firmly believes that the best is yet to come.
