Job Description Acoustics and Signature Analyst Full Time, On-site. Derby, Raynesway. We are currently looking for talented analysts to join the growing Signature Team within Technology in Rolls-Royce Submarines. The team provide our signature capability across the business to support continuous emerging signature challenges in the Submarines Enterprise. As an analyst in the Signature Team you will primarily be, delivering acoustic predictions using engineering analysis/CAE (eg FEA/FEM, SEA), and developing associated methods, toolsets, and Validation and Verification (V&V). We encourage flexible working arrangements and support hybrid working wherever possible, so you can always be at your best - wherever and whenever you work What you will be doing: You will be conducting vibro-acoustic analysis/CAE (eg FEA/FEM, SEA) and providing advice and guidance to the boat programmes to ensure NSRP signature targets are met: Strategic thinking to build on the business vision for the future of the signature capability. Liaising with the boat programmes, customers, and various stakeholders in the signature enterprise. Undertaking work relating to analysis/CAE, analysis methods V&V and uncertainty qualification. Supporting product V&V through relevant testing or commissioning programmes to ensure acoustic targets are met. Provide technical guidance in the design process to ensure acoustic targets are met. Drive continuous improvement through the business to develop capability and design improvements. Bachelor's degree, Master's or PhD in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience. Noise & Vibration experience is preferred but not required. Demonstrate interest in noise & vibration assessments. Able to prioritise tasks and work effectively on multiple projects at the same time. An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems. Ability to communicate effectively with team, across disciplines and across businesses. Experience of research and development, analytical and test validation activities. Desire to actively promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement / s (of tools, processes and methods) both within and outside their immediate sphere and prompt action across the wider team.
