About Us: We are committed to providing high-quality education to students aged 11 to 16 with challenging and complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties or medical needs. Our aim is to nurture, engage, and educate pupils who face barriers to learning by offering bespoke, child-centred educational programmes.
The Role: We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support students in overcoming barriers to learning, both academically and emotionally, and assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
* Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored educational programmes.
* Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
* Foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
* Monitor and report on student progress to inform teaching strategies.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student development.
About You:
* Experience working with students who have SEMH difficulties, either in a mentor, teaching assistant, youth worker, or similar role.
* Ability to engage and motivate students with a confident and positive approach.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEMH support are desirable.
