Location: Talke We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Specialist Payroll to manage and process payroll for our UK operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with payroll systems including SAP, Workday, and ADP IHCM2. This role requires a high level of accuracy, a strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, supporting compliance with HMRC regulations, and resolving payroll-related queries. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to work closely with HR, Finance, and external partners. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all UK employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments in compliance with UK employment law and company policies. System Expertise: Utilize SAP, Workday, and ADP IHCM2 to process payroll, update employee data, and generate payroll reports. Ensure data integrity across systems and resolve system-related issues as they arise. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure payroll compliance with UK statutory requirements including tax, National Insurance, pensions, and other deductions. Prepare and submit accurate reports to HMRC (e.g., P60, P11D, P46D, P45). Employee Records: Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records in Workday, and ADP IHCM2, ensuring changes to personal details, bank accounts, tax codes, and benefit elections are accurately reflected. Payroll Queries: Act as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries, providing advice and support to employees, HR, and other departments. Audit & Reconciliation : Perform regular payroll audits and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll calculations and payments. Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to payroll processes, contributing to efficiency and accuracy. Assist with system upgrades and implementations as needed. Year-End & Tax Filings: Support with year-end payroll processing, ensuring P60s, P11Ds, and other required documentation are accurate and submitted on time. Assist in the annual audit process. Confidentiality & Data Protection: Handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality and in line with data protection regulations. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in payroll processing in a UK-based company, with a strong understanding of UK payroll regulations. Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll systems, particularly SAP, Workday, and ADP IHCM2. Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of UK tax, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory benefits (e.g., sick pay, maternity leave, paternity leave). Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify discrepancies and errors in payroll data. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll processes and regulations clearly to employees and internal stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve payroll-related issues efficiently and effectively. Confidentiality: High level of discretion and professionalism in dealing with sensitive payroll information. Education: CIPP qualification or equivalent payroll certification is desirable but not essential. Desirable Skills: Experience with automated payroll systems and integration with HR and finance systems. Knowledge of GDPR and data protection laws as they relate to payroll. Previous experience in a multi-site payroll environment is a plus. Advanced level of Microsoft Excel is desirable. Personal Attributes: Self-motivated and able to work independently. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
