The Early Intervention and Prevention Team are looking to recruit a permanent 34.5-hour, Early Help Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills and knowledge and help embed the Early Help Strategy across Doncaster.
The position requires strong skills in multi-agency working, effective communication, and a deep understanding of safeguarding and early intervention principles.
As an Early Help Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in promoting early intervention by providing guidance, coordination, and support to schools and partner organisations across Doncaster. Quality assuring Early Help Assessments, supporting at Team Around the Family meetings, role modelling good practice and delivering training to Lead Professionals.
General Role Description
Ensuring Doncaster’s Early Help Strategy is fully operational in accordance with ‘Working Together 2018’. Providing support to the wider partnership in undertaking the Lead Practitioner role to ensure the needs of Children, young people and families receive good quality Early Help at the earliest opportunity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Core responsibilities and duties will include:
* To lead on the implementation of the Early Help Strategy and embed across the partnership.
* To provide information, advice and guidance regarding strategies, policies and procedures, early help, safeguarding and thresholds.
* To ensure that practitioners and their managers are provided with a high standard of guidance in relation to the identification and management of risk, including when a referral to statutory social care is appropriate.
* Ensure all professionals actively engage children, young people and families in the early help process, and create an environment in which they are listened to, consulted and valued in order to effectively influence change and the child’sjourney is transparent.
* Quality assure the work undertaken by the partnership to ensure children, young people and family’s needs are met and understood.
* To plan and deliver high quality, multi-agency training to support the functions of Doncaster Safeguarding Children’s board.
* To work collaboratively with partner organisations to promote early help and monitor performance through data analysis, liaising with managers and practitioners to provide targeted support and challenge to ensure compliance with the Early Help Strategy.
