Protocol are working closely with a Further Education College based in Northamptonshire in their search for an experienced Transport Fleet Administrator.
They are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transport Services Administrator to provide comprehensive administrative, general, and practical support for their student and college transport services. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and compliance of their transport services, adhering to best practices and legislative requirements.
Hours: 7am – 5.30pm (Term Time), with potential weekend and evening work as required.
Role Overview: They are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transport Fleet Administrator to provide comprehensive administrative, general, and practical support for our student and college transport services. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and compliance of our transport services, adhering to best practices and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Fleet Administration: Assist in the administration and coordination of the college’s fleet of motor vehicles, maintaining accurate and detailed records both manually and electronically.
* Compliance and Safety: Ensure all defects are addressed and signed off by repairers, maintain the Re Torque register, and manage the approved drivers list with annual assessments and driving licence checks.
* Resource Management: Reorder fuel, ad blue, and parts, and raise purchase order numbers related to the fleet.
* Insurance and Procedures: Maintain the insurance database and process vehicle check procedures.
* Operational Support: Provide cover for the Transport Coordinator during bus arrivals and departures, handle general enquiries related to student transport, and support the booking of trips and emergency taxi bookings.
* Policy Adherence: Ensure consistent application of college policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health & safety.
* Student Conduct: Manage student conduct in accordance with college policies and promote the welfare of young people and vulnerable groups.
* Equality and Inclusion: Actively promote and commit to best practices in equality, diversity, and inclusion.
* Additional Duties: Support other areas within the Student Services Department as required and undertake any other duties as assigned by the Principal.

* Strong administrative and organisational skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and databases.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
