About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Linux Infrastructure Team Lead to join our team at Sky. As a key member of our Linux team, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of Linux-based systems, ensuring their reliability, scalability, and security.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Linux Infrastructure team in executing plans aligned with organisational objectives and internal client needs.
* Work to resolve the discontinuous nature of Linux deployments and integrating these with the strategic product plans for private cloud, automated host deployments and self-service.
* Collaborate closely with the Platform Enablement team and the SRE team to drive new ideas into the product roadmaps around the deployment self-service, observability, security, and reliability.
Requirements
* Advanced experience in Linux administration, ensuring a solid foundation in managing Linux-based systems.
* Proficiency in shell scripting for automation tasks, enabling efficient management and maintenance of system configurations and processes.
* Strong understanding of networking concepts, essential for configuring and troubleshooting network services and connectivity.
* Experience with troubleshooting and resolving system issues, showcasing problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in resolving technical challenges.
* Knowledge of security best practices for Linux systems, emphasising the importance of maintaining system integrity and protecting against vulnerabilities.
* Ability to mentor and guide junior team members, demonstrating leadership and communication skills necessary for team development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective collaboration within the team and with other stakeholders.
