Job Summary
The Base Manager function is an operational management function, reporting directly to the BU Directors North Sea Energy. It is the base manager’s responsibility to run the base, by managing, guiding, coaching and ensuring all staff have the required resources to execute daily activity
They coordinate and controls the daily operations to ensure compliance with contract agreements, relevant regulations, standards and policies for safe and cost-effective operations.
They have responsibility in managing all supplier contracts for the base and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders including Norwich airport, all local suppliers and contractors
They have a leading role in helping to shape the culture of the company; Ensuring that the values of the company are communicated and understood at all levels, providing clarity as to the expected behaviour of all employees and the development of a high-performance culture.
Respons. & areas
Planning
* Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain the goals of the company.
* Plans and has the responsibility for budget adherence.
* Align with other bases and activities on the base to ensure efficient planning and usage of all company assets to assure an effective organisation and safe operation.
* Ensuring all AOC related activities such as safety meetings, training and audits are performed.
* Accountable for the planning work roster, training and annual leave of direct reports
* Scheduling/rostering of the crew according the requirements and regulations to be able to execute contractual requirements
* Define and source the manpower needed to run the base.
* Respect NHV travel guidelines and adhere to them for own and base personnel travel.
Customer Relationship
* Managing client contracts on a daily basis and acting as a representative of NHV on site.
* Analyse and understand the client’s business and needs.
* Offer the best solutions to the client while ensuring and maintaining the company’s profitability and long-term development.
* Attend client meetings as and when required.
* First point of contact on site for the client.
* Explore commercial leads and report back to the Commercial Department.
* Attendance at local industry meetings representing NHV
Reporting, Profit & Loss
* Review data and confirm client invoices with business control
* Approval of Supplier invoices and staff expenses
* Prepare and present the performance review report of the base and process the feedback of the EXCOM
* Accountable for the P&L of the base
People Management
* Lead by example
* Support the entire performance & development process of base personnel to motivate and align everybody with organisational objectives.
* Cooperate with HQ to provide timely and correct personnel data to enable accurate decision making.
* Manage direct reports and support other departmental managers within the team, coaching, team building, manage social and interpersonal issues.
* Promote team spirit amongst staff.
* Carryout disciplinaries and grievance meetings as required
Managing activities on the base
* Manage the base following the aviation and company safety standards.
* Managing of crisis situations on site, in order to respond correctly to the NHV and the client’s ERP.
* Coordinate and facilitate the efforts of the administration on site regarding the status of aircraft (daily status), all manual updates and supervision.
* Supervise the correct logging of duty times, flight times, logging sheets and any other documents required by the company or local authorities.
* Maintaining clear and timely communication with HQ Ostend and all other parties involved in the day-to-day running of the base.
* Responsible for security matters related to the operations on-site by assuring that the provisions of the Operations Manual and other directives related to flight and ground operations are known by the personnel concerned and applied).
* Communication & coordination with the airport authorities
* Responsible for managing property contracts, including accommodation rentals, pool cars and all vehicles on site
Experience
* Must be able to demonstrate Management / Leadership experience (including carrying out disciplinary and grievance situations)
* Must be able to demonstrate experience dealing with Clients from a commercial perspective
* Budget preparation and control experience
* Must have or be able to gain a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
* Relevant education or equivalent by experience in the aviation sector is a benefit.
* Outstanding organisational and leadership abilities with a track record of driving profitable growth

* IT literate (MS Office)
* Languages:
o English: fluent in understanding – writing – speaking
* Ability to work under pressure
* Solution based thinker and able to demonstrate situations.
