We are looking for an experienced SCPHN School Nurse to work collaboratively within the School nursing team, Operational Leads and practice educators
The Practice Facilitator is responsible for managing and coordinating the work of SCPHN students and for monitoring and improving standards of care within their team. This post in addition carries responsibilities for the planning of practical experiences, teaching, supervision and assessment of one or more students (in accordance with the Standards to support learning and assessment in practice, Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) Standards for mentors, practice teachers and teachers., 1) Act as a practice facilitator for school nursing service wide practitioners.
2) Supports the Practice Educator in maintaining effective liaison with university lecturers.
3) Ensures NMC standards for education and training are maintained.
4) Ensures regular contact is maintained with the student and / or university tutor as and when required demonstrating working awareness of factors that influence integration of students into practice settings.
5) Contribute to the development and monitoring of effective new staff and students mentorship in partnership with the Operational lead.
6) Be a positive role model upholding professional standards and values at all times
7) Establishes ground-rules, expectations and boundaries conducive to a positive mentor / teacher / student relationship.
8) Maintains effective and constructive feedback, comprehensive record keeping related to student's development and learning needs following university and Croydon Health Services guidelines.
9) Communicates across all disciplines to facilitate and develop inter-professional learning and working ethos.
