Job Description Ultra Precision Control Systems are looking for an Accountant to join the Finance Function. This role reports into the Financial Controller and has responsibility for accounting tasks in the PCS UK entity. The candidate will form part of the UK finance team, including accounting, project accounting, A/P and A/R teams, alongside the FP&A team within finance. The role will be responsible for supporting the creation and maintenance of robust, timely, accurate financial transacting and associated outputs across the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow. Role Responsibilities: Quality, accuracy and timeliness of accounting entries Ensuring month end reporting and associated numbers are correct and supportable Calculation and processing of general journals Production and maintenance of month end balance sheet reconciliations Production and submission of monthly VAT Returns Ensure IFS ERP systems is reconciled to OneStream (consolidation software) at all times, with robust and clear supporting audit trail Ensure accounting is maintained in compliance with appropriate IFRS principles Ensure that relevant and timely financial information is made available to the company in a format that meets the expectations/requirements of internal and external customers Undertaking analytical assignments to support specific areas require deeper analysis Drive forward with process improvements where opportunities exist for improvements Evolve over time incremental and enhanced process notes, supporting the adherence to standard operating procedures Support an efficient and ultimately successful year end financial audit (and internal audits) Embedding robust internal controls and processes throughout the finance function Continuously challenge the way we work and actively identify areas of where change can improve the performance within Finance and in the way this department serves others in the company. Make the identified changes as quickly as practical. Participate in, and support, company-wide change initiatives Working closely with the FP&A function to support the creation of meaningful forecasts, budgets etc Working closely with the Finance Business Partner to ensure end to end operational engagement on key balance sheet areas such as inventory, warranty etc Working closely with the Data Analysis and Business Systems team to improve the quality of data, reporting and systems across the business Ad hoc tasks as are required from time to time Required Skills and Experience: A qualified accountant This desired candidate will have experience within an operational/manufacturing/engineering finance team An ambitious, inquisitive and motivated individual looking to take on additional responsibility, develop their career and make a meaningful impact Someone who will not be put off by the size of the task, rather will be motivated by the opportunity to clearly demonstrate the impact they are having on the team and the wider finance environment A person with an ability to work collaboratively with finance and non-finance colleagues and inspire others A detailed understanding of accounting dynamics, including operational accounting interactions within an ERP system.
