You will be joining a strong team with 10 Engineers based in Warrington and will be expected to travel to various sites in the Manchester & Northwest area + the Northeast, where we handshake with the Leeds & Scotland Service Branches. You will be enrolling in a 4-year program to develop into an Industrial Refrigeration Field Service Engineer, working across a wide variety of customer sites covering a vast range of manufacturing processes. For the first part of your program, you will spend all your time shadowing Qualified Engineers, learning on the tools, and be expected to drive your own progress & development. The apprenticeship program aims to give individuals the opportunity to develop themselves and will rely on being inquisitive, asking questions, and getting involved.
The Apprenticeship Program is aimed at developing individuals to become Competent Industrial Refrigeration Engineers. Later on in the progress of your Apprenticeship, you will be expected to attend sites to complete Planned Maintenance, Breakdowns, and lead Service tasks. Moving towards the final years of your Program, you will be expected to cover Standby with appropriate support. We will also aim to give you experience in the Office so you can see both sides of the Service Branch Operation; quoting, problem-solving, planning, and prioritizing tasks based on severity.
Key Learning Areas:
1. ‘’On the Tools’’ experience from Day 1 working with experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineers
2. Develop an in-depth understanding of Mechanical & Electrical Control Circuits including troubleshooting, fault finding & repair
3. Development of Soft Skills working with a range of customers from different backgrounds, all with different priorities and requirements
4. Manufacturing Processes
5. Health and Safety in the workspace
Minimum Requirements:
1. Full UK Driving License
2. 3x GCSEs C or above in Maths, English & Science (or equivalent)
3. Keen interest in Engineering/Mechanical subjects
4. Inquisitive mindset
5. Soft skill – be confident in asking questions
