To undertake a range of duties, both administrative and reception, assisting and supporting staff within the unit and to help maintain the efficient running of the unit.

Main duties of the job
1. Responsible for collection of notes for the clinic, filing all relevant results in patient records, tracking and returning notes.
2. Greeting patients and visitors to the unit.
3. Reception duties whereby all relevant paperwork is compiled and notes are attended to.
4. Answer the telephone and take and record messages whilst adhering to the telephone standard applicable throughout the Trust and alert the nurse in charge to any action required.
5. Provide clerical support to the Unit Manager and Drs in relation to filing, emailing, faxing and obtaining patient records and results as appropriate.
6. Responsible for the ordering and collection of stationery and ensuring all appropriate documents, Patient Information Leaflets and general items required are well stocked and readily available.
7. Inputting data onto relevant databases.
8. Assist with the paper results on a daily basis by checking for appointments, filing and issuing letters to the patient as instructed.
9. Provide holiday and sickness cover for other clerical staff as required.
10. Organising appropriate transfers or patient transport.
11. Undertake administrative tasks specific to the Clinical Decisions Unit.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £45.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
Person Specification
Knowledge
* Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures.
Experience
* Experience of working in an administrative environment.
* Experience working 'face to face' with the general public as part of a team.
* Previous NHS Experience.
Skills
* Proficient user of IT including Microsoft.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels.
Education & Qualifications
* ECDL or equivalent IT skills.
