Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and dedicated Printer and Photocopier Engineer to provide on-site support for our customers. The role involves diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and maintaining a wide range of printing devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, enjoy hands-on work, and be eager to learn about evolving printing technologies, including thermal and wide-format printers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site service, repair, and maintenance for a variety of printing and copying devices.
Diagnose faults, troubleshoot, and carry out efficient and effective repairs.
Install, configure, and support scanning, drivers, and networking solutions.
Work with a range of devices, including Ricoh & Konica Minolta photocopiers, thermal printers (all manufacturers), and Canon/HP wide-format printers.
Install and support industry-specific software such as Bartender and PaperCut (advantageous but not essential).
Maintain strong customer relationships, offering expert technical support.
Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of service visits.
Travel primarily within Gloucester and surrounding areas, with some travel further afield as required.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Mechanical or technical intuition – if you enjoy working with machinery, tools, and fixing things, we want to hear from you!
Experience with photocopiers or printers (or similar mechanical/electrical equipment).
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to learn and develop expertise in thermal, wide-format, and other evolving printing technologies.
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience setting up scanning, drivers, and networking solutions.
Knowledge of industry-specific software (Bartender / PaperCut).
