Position Summary
This role involves developing and maintaining IT applications across a range of technologies, including .NET Framework, .NET 7+ Web APIs, React, and PowerApps, among others.
Key Responsibilities:
1. New Application Development: Build new applications from initial requirements gathering to deployment and user rollout.
2. Maintenance: Maintain and enhance existing applications using .NET Framework, .NET 8 Web APIs, and React.
3. Power Platform: Implement and optimize business processes using PowerApps, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI for reporting and dashboards.
4. SQL Reports: Design and build SQL-based reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Key Technologies:
1. Frontend: React, JavaScript.
2. Backend: .NET Framework (MVC, C#), .NET 7+, Web APIs.
3. Data & Reporting: SQL, SSRS, Power BI.
4. Automation & Apps: PowerApps, Power Automate.
The role requires strong technical skills in software development, API integration, business process automation, and reporting, with a focus on full-stack development and continuous maintenance.
Key Duties
1. Create innovative applications and provide ongoing maintenance and support for current in-house applications, systems and databases.
2. Participate at all levels of the development cycle and take ownership where necessary.
3. Troubleshoot, support and resolve issues.
4. Handle testing procedures and deliver end user training where required.
5. Research and keep up to date with Microsoft technologies, with particular focus on the Power Platform.
6. Mentor the IT Applications Placement Student.
Requirements for Consideration:
1. A degree in Computer Science (min 2:1), or equivalent qualification/experience.
2. Minimum 2-4 years of proven experience as a web developer (or similar role) delivering responsive and dynamic websites or web applications.
3. Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Commercial Sales, Purchasing, Finance).
7. Attention to detail and a passion for creating high quality, maintainable code.
8. Time management skills and the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Self-motivation with the ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver results independently.
