Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Durham
Contract type: Long term temporary
Leader Education is recruiting a Teacher who will bring their expertise to an alternative provision in Durham. This school supports students with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH); therefore, experience with SEMH or vulnerable individuals would be highly beneficial. This provision prioritizes helping pupils reintegrate into mainstream education.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:00am until 4pm.
The successful candidate will have:
* Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications
* A current DBS that is on the update system, or a willingness to obtain one
* Team Teach training is desirable; however, there is the option to undertake this within the role
* Ability to effectively deliver the curriculum, offering support, advice, and guidance to pupils
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with pupils, colleagues, parents, and other professionals
* Adaptability and initiative to accommodate various learning types and abilities, striving towards social and academic development
* High expectations and aspirations for young people and themselves
