We’re looking for a Startup Growth & Marketing Advisor to mentor early-stage businesses, deliver strategic marketing workshops on a one-to-one basis, and drive engagement in our startup support programmes. About the Role
As a Startup Growth & Marketing Advisor at The NextGen Business Support Services Ltd, you’ll play a crucial role in empowering new businesses. You’ll provide 1:1 mentoring, run half-day strategy workshops on digital marketing, and support the coordination of events and training sessions. Additionally, you’ll help recruit businesses into The NextGen Start Up Programme by executing targeted localised marketing campaigns across Staffordshire and having a presence at networking events.
Key Responsibilities:
* Mentoring & Marketing Support – Work closely with startups, guiding them through marketing challenges and helping them develop strategies for Google My Business, SEO, social media, and email marketing.
* Workshops & Training – Deliver interactive half-day strategy sessions focused on essential digital marketing skills.
* Event & Programme Coordination – Assist in planning and delivering impactful events, training sessions, and networking opportunities to support startup growth.
* Recruitment & Outreach – Lead efforts to engage and recruit businesses into the NextGen programme through localised marketing campaigns.
* Community Building – Create meaningful connections between startups, mentors, and industry professionals to foster a thriving business network.
* Participant Engagement – Ensure ongoing communication with programme participants, providing guidance, resources, and ongoing marketing support.
Who You Are:
* A marketing professional with hands-on experience in digital marketing, SEO, and social media strategy.
* Passionate about supporting startups and equipping entrepreneurs with the marketing skills they need to succeed.
* A confident and engaging communicator who enjoys delivering training and mentoring.
* Organised, proactive, and skilled at driving engagement in business support programmes.
* Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a wider team.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience in marketing, business growth, programme coordination, or a related field.
* Strong organisational and communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients.
* A solid understanding of digital marketing principles and tools.
* Experience in event coordination, community engagement, or business networking (preferred but not essential).
* Passion for entrepreneurship and supporting business owners.
Salary & Benefits:
* £30,000 per annum
* 3% pension contribution
* 28 days holiday incl. bank holidays
* Hybrid working – a mix of remote and in-person support in Stoke-on-Trent
