Hours - 0.5FTE 18.5 hours per week - maternity cover fixed term until 7 April 2021 Based at the Central Campus, Brighton To start August 2020 We are looking for an experienced Academic Coordinator to join the International team. The candidate will be responsible for managing the College's International academic programmes including development of new programmes and quality improvement of existing programmes. The candidate will have oversight of the allocation of teachers to specific courses and the quality of teaching and learning on all International academic programmes. The ability to design and develop effective CPD teacher training with relevance to our range of programmes is important. The candidate will collaborate with the Head of International to develop course content for group programmes with consideration of specific requirements. They will also play a key role in supporting group enquiries and initial group bids from an academic perspective including preparation of sample timetables. The candidate will liaise with curriculum teams cross campus to ensure the needs of International Higher Education and Vocational students are being met and, where relevant, to develop the EAP programme content accordingly. The successful candidate will have a track record of excellent organisational and time management skills. A combination of practical experience, ideally within a fast paced environment, and a clear understanding of theory based knowledge will also be key to the role. The candidate will ensure the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning throughout the teaching team. Some evening and weekend work may be required. We are interested in candidates with the ability to work within budgets to develop academic programme quality. The role includes some teaching as part of the contract with additional teaching being under a separate sessional contract. This could require evening and weekend work.
