About The Role Waldon Telecom, a part of M Group Services Telecom Division, is an essential infrastructure services provider to the mobile telecommunication sector in the UK.
We work on behalf of large mobile network operators to acquire, design, and construct mobile telecommunication base stations across the country.
Due to our continued success, we are looking for a Build Manager to be part of our Vodafone Team in the UK.
Having already started build works for Vodafone and winning further Design, Passive & Active Build works, we are now scaling our growth to meet client demand, and delivery top tier quality designs. What will you be doing?
As the Build Manager your role will be to work within Operations and support the Project Delivery teams by managing the end-to-end tasks across all build activities.
This role fits within Waldon Telecom's Vodafone Operations Team and will work collaboratively with the Design & Build teams The role will be home, and office based (West Byfleet, Surrey or Diseworth, Derby) with site visits as per project demand.
What will your key responsibilities be?
Attending regular visits to all suppliers and offices to ensure workloads, staff and processes are being adhered to.
Producing regular reports to management teams.
Ensuing all health and safety/environmental legislation is met on site.
Checking and auditing of sub-contractors work on site.
Ensuring sites are built to program and budget.
Highlighting, monitoring variations and discussing fully with relevant departments.
Providing supervision and support to all members of Build department.
Liaising with the Quantity Surveyor on cost matters.
Engineering solutions to site difficulties.
Providing information for Quarterly Departmental meetings.
Monitoring performance of sites agreed KPIs.
Monitoring forthcoming trends in workload and align resource accordingly.
What skills and experience are we looking for?
Full UK Driving Licence.
Willingness to travel.
Strong background in construction site management.
Strong Commercial awareness in Telecoms (Mobile Wireless ADC).
Proven experience of constructing Telecoms (Mobile Wireless ADC) sites.
Proven experience in leading, coaching and developing people in the field.
Working knowledge of Health & Safety/Environmental legislation.
Suitably trained to execute duties relating to design and construction.
Degree in Civils or Building advantageous.
Member of Professional Institution beneficial .
Ability to prioritise workload and meet key deadlines in a pressurised, target driven environment, whilst maintaining a customer focused ethos.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to build positive relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Has the proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment to achieve programme targets.
Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills.
Energetic and self-motivated.
Approaches change in a positive way.
