We are currently seeking a dedicated Disability Teaching Assistant to join our partnered school in Small Heath, Birmingham.
This is a physically demanding role, supporting children with physical and mental disabilities as they navigate the school grounds.
The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have significant experience working with individuals with additional needs.
You will primarily be based in the school's specialised SEN building but will also be required to assist pupils across the school site, ensuring they can move between lessons and activities safely and comfortably.
- Provide direct support to the SENCO within the SEN building.
- Assist pupils with mobility around the school grounds.
- Facilitate the transport of students to and from lessons.
- Communicate effectively with classroom teachers, pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
- Uphold safeguarding principles and adhere to the school's policies and procedures.
- Offer 1:1 and small group support to SEND pupils, promoting their learning and development.
- Holds a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Has at least 1 year's experience working in UK schools (primary, secondary, or SEN).
- Is physically fit and capable of supporting students with mobility challenges.
- Demonstrates a caring, considerate, and proactive attitude.
- Has a minimum of 5 GCSEs.
- Brings prior experience working with SEND children on a 1:1 or small group basis.
- Is passionate about education and committed to pupil development.
- Free CPD training, including child protection and Prevent Duty courses.
