Opus People Solutions on behalf of Shropshire Council is seeking a highly organized and motivated Administration Officer to join the council's dynamic administration team. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Administrator. This position involves supporting various financial functions within the council, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
1. Assist in the preparation and processing of financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts.
2. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with council policies and procedures.
3. Support the monthly and annual financial reporting processes, including reconciliation of accounts.
4. Respond to financial inquiries from staff and stakeholders, providing guidance and information as needed.
5. Assist in budget preparation and monitoring, ensuring adherence to financial regulations.
6. Contribute to audits and compliance checks, ensuring all documentation is accurate and accessible.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a financial administration or accounting role is preferred.
2. Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
4. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
