Job summary
This is an opportunity for a role in the new Quality, Safety and Improvement directorate of the NHS Wales Executive, to be part of our team at a busy and exciting time as we step-up our support to help NHS Wales improve care for the people of Wales.
Improvement Cymru is a core part of this directorate. Together, we work alongside organisations to empower, embed and elevate improvements to quality and safety, delivering all-Wales improvement programmes to achieve quality and safety priorities.
You'll be joining an ambitious team, comprising some of the most qualified, experienced Improvement professionals in health and social care in Wales. As part of our new direction, we want to strengthen our team by recruiting new team members from diverse backgrounds with a mix of skills, personalities and experiences - considering candidates from both an NHS background as well as other sectors.
This is an exciting opportunity for a software developer specialising in Microsoft Power Platform software to join the analytics team within the Quality, Safety and Improvement directorate.
This is a new role fulfilling the need for Power Platform expertise, which will be required as we develop as a directorate. This role will initially be supported by an external party who have been involved in developing a large application built in Power Apps to ensure smooth handover and ability of the team to support this product in the future.
Main duties of the job
As our analytical team has grown to > 10 strong, we have felt a stronger need to develop more analytical and digital infrastructure to support simple data collection, analysis and usability needs.
This has led to the development through an external party of a quality improvement project application storing improvement projects including measures and displaying these. Now we have seen the possibilities of utilising the Microsoft 365 suite of tools, we are in the process of upskilling our team to support this existing product as well as others we plan to develop to support our directorate and teams across Wales.
This role will require experience and expertise in the Power Platform within Microsoft 365 particularly using PowerApps, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, the Dataverse and SharePoint.
The successful candidate will lead in our Power Platform developments, working independently and with other members of the Quality, Safety and Improvement Directorate as well as with stakeholders across the health and care system in Wales to scope, iteratively develop and launch tools with other analysts in the team.
There is no expectation of line management within this role, but the post holder will be required to lead project teams on pieces of work associated with the Power Platform and to advise others in the team gaining skills within the Power Platform.
Interested candidates are encouraged to contact the role recruitment manager to discuss the role further -
