Job Title Building Services Engineer (Electrical Bias) Department: Building services Site: Lakeside Shopping Centre Reports: To Maintenance Manager Responsible For: Electrical maintenance of the centre Working Hours: Shift pattern Salary: Up to £40,000 The duties and responsibilities described below are not intended to be exhaustive. Purpose of the Role To offer exceptional Customer Service to customers, retailers and visitors at all times. The purpose of the building services electrical engineer role is to maintain the centers systems as scheduled by our CAFM system and carry out repairs to ensure optimum performance for the comfort of our customers. Using a wide variety of general maintenance duties, you will be proactive and focus to the monitoring of energy consumption ensuring all systems are efficient. Ensure engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the plant and associated systems. Aid other engineers and departments, carrying out maintenance and other works when requested. You will be expected to operate access machines (after training). Ensuring the company health and safety policy is always adhered to, and you will be expected to act in a professional and friendly manner with all contractors, retailers, and visitors. Key Responsibilities • To carry out planned preventative maintenance as per CAFM programme. • Test against engineering standards to ensure effectiveness and reliability of the plant and associated systems. • To ensure company quality assurance and site procedures are adhered to in all aspects including electrical safety rules and NICEIC accreditation. • Ensure company and site, health and safety procedures are followed at all times. • Maintain and issue accurate site records/documentation in association with all site works. • To inspect the condition of services and proactively deal with callouts/repairs as required and requested by management. • Carry out tasks within typical plant room environments and at high level, working from platforms and ladders. All access and PPE will be provided. • Keep and maintain all company issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner. • To proactively work towards the continued success and support of the team with a positive approach. • Complete any other associated task requested by the management. • Respond to emergency call-out via team on a rota basis. • Attend site emergencies, outside of normal working hours. • Shift pattern (rota basis). • Respond to emergency call-out requests to ensure clients’ systems are not prejudiced and to maintain the continuity of operation. To ensure our retailers receive a proactive interface with technical issues from shop fit through to operation and beyond. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Skills required • NQV Level 3 (Electrical) • IET 18th Edition. • Three years demonstrable experience as an engineer in maintenance activities • Good organizational skills, oral and written communication • A flexible approach and a sense of teamwork • IOSH Safety Passport • Demonstrable knowledge of statutory requirements • IT system literacy to be able to get the most from the evolving operational technology across our business. • Good customer care skills • Deliver centre of excellence covering all areas of technical delivery Qualifications and experience: Essential: • NQV Level 3 Engineering Maintenance (Electrical). • IET 18th Edition. • Three years’ demonstrable experience as an electrician preferably within a maintenance capacity. • Training or awareness of safe manual handling. • Flexibility to support the building service team. • Demonstrable knowledge of statutory requirements. • Good customer care skills. • Reliable.
