Join our day service teams across the county which provide a valuable resource for adults with many different support needs, including older people, people living with dementia, adults with learning disability and/or autism, brain injury, mental health support needs and long-term complex health conditions.
We are looking for people with catering experience who enjoy working in a busy environment, as part of a team, can work on their own initiative and are able to communicate at all levels. Working with a friendly, flexible and can-do attitude is essential to meet the needs of the service. An ability to show dignity and respect and be sensitive to the needs of the people who use our services is essential.
As a Caterer you will be responsible for the provision of a quality catering service within a defined budget. You will be preparing a variety of appetising meals, light bites including the provision of specialist dietary meals every day and be passionate about high standards and customer satisfaction. You will have a sound understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques and be highly organised and calm under pressure.
You will also be responsible for ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety within the kitchens and adhering to the Safer Food, Better Business food policy and safe working practices. Ordering food and supplies within a budget and supervising the work of the Catering Assistant is a key role and the completion of all due diligence procedures.
You will have an NVQ or equivalent qualification in Food/Catering and a willingness to undertake relevant training is essential. A full uniform will be provided.
