Our valued client is looking for a Civils labourer to join their team in the West Midlands.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Telecoms Civils Labourer to support skilled operatives in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecom infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, physically fit, and eager to learn about the telecoms and civil engineering industry. You will assist with groundwork, cable installation, and reinstatement tasks while ensuring health and safety standards are met on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting skilled operatives in excavation, trenching, and duct installation for telecom networks.
• Loading, unloading, and moving materials and equipment to and from worksites.
• Helping with the installation of underground ducts, chambers, and telecom cabinets.
• Supporting cable pulling operations through ducts and overhead poles.
• Performing basic reinstatement work, such as backfilling trenches and clearing sites.
• Setting up and maintaining site safety barriers, signs, and traffic management systems.
• Ensuring worksites are kept clean and tidy, removing debris and waste materials.
• Following all health and safety procedures, including the use of PPE and adherence to risk assessments.
• Assisting with basic machine operation, under supervision.
• Reporting any site hazards, equipment issues, or safety concerns to supervisors.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in construction, groundwork, or utilities is beneficial but not essential.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour in various weather conditions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
