Description
Drive SBV’s compliance with Regulatory Bi-laws
* Oversee SBV's adherence to all relevant regulatory bylaws, external regulations, and internal policies impacting facilities and infrastructure.
* Develop and manage a comprehensive compliance roadmap for the Facilities and Infrastructure department, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015, SANS standards, and building regulations.
* Offer compliance and regulatory guidance to the Head of Facilities and Infrastructure.
* Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks associated with current and planned facilities and infrastructure activities.
* Continuously monitor the regulatory landscape in South Africa and Rest of Africa.
* Implement compliance strategies and develop compliance risk management plans.
* Collaborate in developing and updating policies and procedures within the Facilities and Infrastructure framework.
Manage Compliance Administration for the Facilities and Infrastructure function.
* Facilitate the preparation, coordination, and submission of all compliance documents related to Facilities and Infrastructure activities.
* Facilitate meetings with relevant stakeholders to gather information and ensure alignment during the compliance process.
* Conduct administrative close-out procedures to verify complete and accurate recordkeeping of all compliance documentation.
* Manage project risks, issues, and escalations within established frameworks.
* Monitor compliance with all applicable building regulations, legal requirements, and industry standards.
* Collaborate with architects to ensure final completion certificates are issued for all construction projects.
* Verify adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act and National Building Regulations Act.
* Maintain records of occupational certificates, building plans, and structural engineer certificates.
* Facilitate the submission of fire completion certificates to local authorities.
Report and Manage on all Compliance related findings within the Facilities and Infrastructure Framework
* Prepare and submit compliance reports and applications to relevant regulatory authorities.
* Conduct inspections of Facilities and Infrastructure based on established checklists.
* Champion the development and implementation of changes that promote a strong culture of compliance.
* Create and manage administrative tools to facilitate accurate and timely record keeping.
Manage Facilities and Infrastructure Contracts Management Framework
* Create and apply the contractual framework within the Infrastructure and Facilities landscape.
* Co-craft with procurement and legal in the procurement of Facility Management service providers.
* Negotiate and assist in drafting suitable service or concession agreements and contracts.
* Support the Procurement, Risk, and Legal teams in reviewing contracts and legal documentation.
* Lead and supervise construction contracts.
* Review all contractual obligations in line with the Facilities and Infrastructure framework.
Stakeholder Management
* Interact with various stakeholders to seek their opinion on Facilities and Infrastructure legislative requirements.
* Assist the Head: Facilities and Infrastructure in providing compliance advice.
* Manage communication with clients, users, internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage SBV’s Risk and Security policies and procedures.
* Oversee the integration of workstreams, collaborating with procurement, legal, and other leads.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, define, and execute compliance-related activities.
Contribute to the organisation’s governance initiatives
* Align with SBV Services' ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards.
* Support SBV Services’ ESG journey, reporting on and managing ESG requirements.
Provide leadership to employees within the organisation
* Lead as an Ambassador and executor of Change.
* Act as a change management architect during periods of change.
* Effectively communicate and embed new processes and procedures.
* Facilitate necessary presentations, workshops, or forums.
Drive the organisation culture
* Drive the department’s values while inspiring confidence and commitment.
* Advocate for SBV’s Transformation and BBB-EE initiatives.
* Provide leadership to employees, creating a winning culture.
* Initiate and lead a culture of performance-driven output.
Requirements
* 3 years in legal & regulatory compliance and contract management.
* Degree in Law or related qualification.
* Certificate/diploma in compliance management (highly preferred).
