TEXO Recruitment are excited to be working with a client based in Darlington that are seeking a skilled and experienced NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) & Lifting Equipment Inspector to perform inspection, testing, and certification of lifting equipment and structural components both offshore and onshore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in NDT techniques and knowledge of industry standards for lifting equipment. You will ensure compliance with international regulations, client standards, and safety protocols, playing a vital role in maintaining operational excellence. Area(s) of Responsibility: Inspection & Testing: Conduct detailed inspections and certification of lifting equipment, including but not limited to cranes, hoists, slings, shackles, and lifting beams. Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) using various methods such as: Visual Testing (VT) Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT/MPI) Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT) Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Inspect and evaluate structural components and welds to detect flaws, cracks, or defects. Mobilising assets to meet customer timelines, ensuring that all certification and supporting information is provided. On return of rental assets, demobilise and inspect as per internal procedures and service instructions. Carry out necessary repairs and components change-outs, re-certifying the equipment on completion. Verify any repairs and returning assets to stock in a ready-to-use state. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all lifting equipment inspections and NDT activities comply with relevant standards such as LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations), ASME, ISO, DNV, or client-specific requirements. Generate detailed inspection and NDT reports, including photographs and measurements, and provide clear recommendations for repairs or recertifications. Maintain up-to-date certification records and ensure proper documentation for audits or client review. Maintenance & Repair Support: Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with lifting equipment and structural components. Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and re-certifications of non-compliant equipment. Offshore/Onshore Operations: Work on offshore platforms, vessels, refineries, and onshore facilities as required by the project schedule. Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) protocols and guidelines during all operations. Training & Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors and technicians when required. Stay updated on advancements in NDT techniques, industry standards, and lifting equipment technology. HEALTH, SAFETY AND QAULITY Ensure all QHSE policies are followed. Essential Skills & Certifications: ASNT/ISO9712/PCN Level 2 in MPI, UT, ET & PT LEEA Foundation & General are preferable, but training can be provided.
