Purpose of the Role
The Building Services Manager will play a key role in the delivery of projects for BCEGI across Logistics, residential and commercial sectors. Reporting to the Head of Construction, this role requires a passion for first-class delivery, implementing best practices, continuous improvement, and promoting BCEGI externally.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
With a flexible approach to supporting all BCEGI activities, preferably but not limited to:
* Be responsible for the technical compliance of M&E tenders throughout the tender bid process as allocated.
* Assist with the selection of sub-contractors to tender from the supply chain.
* Review the M&E tender to agree on the bid strategy.
* Manage all tender M&E queries during the bid stage.
* Attend the handover meeting & pass the M&E file to the construction teams and surveyors.
* Lead, manage, and motivate the project’s external consultants to establish their full commercial contribution to BCEGI.
* Review the performance of the M&E sub-contractors to assess their suitability.
* Assist with the management of the commissioning process and compliance of as-built and maintenance manuals.
* Provide input into the monthly project so that it reflects a true/accurate position regarding the service aspects of the project.
* Assist the line manager with the resolution of defects as required.
Work Experience / Expectations
* The candidate should have a strong MEP background (either main contractor or sub-contractor) with experience in the pre-construction, design, and delivery aspects of MEP and Utility services.
* The candidate should have experience in various sectors including but not limited to Residential, Commercial, Hotel, Education, and Healthcare.
* The role will require a passion for first-class delivery, implementing best practices, continuous improvement, and promoting BCEGI externally.

* Good interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to form effective working relationships.
* Experience within the most current forms of procurement.
* Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material.
* Numeracy and bid/report writing skills.
* Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity.
* Strong work ethics.
* Demonstrates a passion and excitement for their work.
